Our story

We started this because most DIY advice online skips the part where it goes wrong.

MyHomeDIY began as a shared notebook between two friends who kept fixing things in each other's houses on weekends. After the third time someone said "wait, how did you do that again?" — we started writing it down properly.

Six years and 847 projects later, that's still the whole approach: do the project first, write it down honestly (mistakes included), and only publish once we'd trust the steps enough to hand them to a friend.

How we work

Every project on this site is built and photographed by our own small team before it's written up. We don't source projects from forums or rewrite other sites — if we haven't done it, it's not here.

Editorial independence

We never accept payment to recommend a specific product or tool brand. Any tool or material mentioned in a project is what we actually used, chosen because it worked — not because someone paid for the placement.
